Amendment No. 2 Hospital RFP and questions.

Questions approved by the Hospital Committee:

  1. How would “operating” the hospital vs “managing” the hospital impact your proposal?
  2. Wayne County does not own the equipment and furnishings inside the hospital. How would you address this?
  3. If not addressed in your proposal, please provide more detailed plans regarding EMS services.
  4. How long do you expect the process of applying for and converting Wayne Medical Center to REH designation? In addition, how long until the first payment for REH designation is received from the federal government?
  5. How would approval or disapproval of the REH Federal funds affect your proposal to manage/operate the hospital?
  6. Do you believe a skilled nursing unit would or would not be financially beneficial and why?
  7. Specifically to MRH, in light of the new designation of REH what staffing changes do they see with regard to their continued management and/or operation of the facility?
  8. Same question as the one above to the other companies who submitted bids, however, if they are successful what would their position be with regard to former WMC/MRH employees, and would they give them a preference in hiring?
  9. Also, the proposers addressed it to some extent in their proposals, with MRH as I read it pretty much declining to do it, but can they detail as much as possible their plans for the expansion of services in the county?
  10. How would they recruit new physicians to the county and what would that look like such as general practitioners or specialists, if feasible, with some days in the county on a recurring basis?
  11. What is their opinion of the physical premises and its continued service? Has each bidder performed a sufficient inspection to ascertain the longevity of the building?
  12. What would their expectations be from the county and community to maintain and grow a hospital facility in the county? I.e., additional financial obligations from the county and participation levels from the citizens.
  13. Are there any services that are not being provided at Wayne Medical Center today that are going to Maury Regional that could be provided at Wayne Medical Center without material changes to the hospital, and what commitment would Maury Regional make to ensure those services are provided at Wayne Medical Center?
